For “Cultura Lituana in Italia 2025-2026” programme, two VR artworks at the Museo Nazionale del Cinema

Museo Nazionale del Cinema presents and features two Lithuanian VR works as part of the CINEVR programme.

Trail of Angels (Angelų Takais) by Kristina Buožytė and Vitalijus Žukas is an emotional and deeply immersive VR journey through a poetic afterlife inspired by the art and music of M.K. Čiurlionis. The work, premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival and winner of the Lumen Prize for Art and Technology, is distributed by Oniroco Studios.

Creation of the Worlds (Pasaulių sutvėrimas), by the same authors, draws inspiration from the transcendent visual and musical language of M.K. Čiurlionis. This VR experience invites reflection, mindfulness, and emotional renewal, continuing the artistic and contemplative path begun with Trail of Angels. Presented in competition at Venice Immersive 2025, it is also distributed by Oniroco Studios.

The works are presented as part of the Cultura Lituana in Italia 2025-2026 programme, an initiative organised by the Lithuanian Culture Institute and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Italy. Cultura Lituana in Italia is a programme that, between 2025 and 2026, travels across Italy through exhibitions, festivals, biennials, museums, concert halls, and independent venues. It is a journey through Lithuanian art and culture — an ideal map where two geographies intertwine, bringing the most original and influential creative expressions from Lithuania to some of the most emblematic places of contemporary Italy.

The presentation of the two works at the Museum is also organised in collaboration with the Italian Short Film Center, which, during the ShorTO Film Market on 24 and 25 November, as part of TFI Torino Film Industry 8, will feature a special focus on Lithuania. The event will host a delegation of Lithuanian producers and include panels, screenings, and networking opportunities.
